FAQ
Q: What is Risograph printing?
A: Think of it like screen printing for paper. Each page must go through the printer once for each color. See the cover? It needed three passes. Because it is an older technology, there is an art to printing with a Risograph. There are always imperfections, which gives Riso printing much of its charm.
Q: Once you print each page, what next?
A: Someone took a stack of these pages and bound it by hand, thus turning it into a book.
Q: Wow, that's a lot of work. How many copies did you print?
A: This is a limited run of 190 copies. Cosmic Dog House Press handled the printing, and they absolutely rocked it. However, the entire process is incredibly time consuming. There is a reason that Risographs are rarely used for a book of this length. In other words, we will not be making additional Riso copies when we sell out.
Q: Who did the illustrations?
A: We have Reiko Que Fuego to thank for the art that graces the cover and is peppered throughout. Reach out through Instagram if you're interested in her prints.
Q: What about Vol. 1?
Don't Hate My Heels: A Confrontation With Whorephobia in which the Whores Win (Vol. 1) had a powerful impact as an educational weapon and tool for sex workers to connect, defend themselves, and educate loved ones. You can buy a copy for $10. "Don’t Hate My Heels” was shortlisted for the 2018 Broken Pencil Zine Awards and the named contributors were featured on the cover of the June 2019 Issue of Canada-based Broken Pencil Magazine with a full editorial spread and interview.

Q: What are people saying about Don't Hate My Heels Vol. 2?
Great things!
“Sharp as stiletto heels, vibrant as blood-red lipstick, raw and revelatory, this collection of stories and essays challenges and invites the reader to consider how undoing bias against sex workers leads to the life-saving softness of relationship.”
— Jamila M. Dawson, LMFT, Co-author of Essential Clinical Care for Sex Workers: A Sex-Positive Handbook for Mental Health Practitioners
“Anti-sexwork bias comes for us all, this book insists, and it shapes how sex workers hustle, how they rest, and how they love. Weaving absorbing narrative together with sharp analysis, Don’t Hate My Heels Vol. 2 helps sex workers think about the care they deserve and helps the people who love them think about how to make it happen.”
— Dr. Heather Berg, author of Porn Work: Sex, Labor, and Late Capitalism
“Vol. 2 found me at just the right time. These stories showed me that relationships are all delicate work. I’m a stripper forever, and the way we navigate the world with our own signature sparkle is beautiful and wild. May this book illuminate the dark corners of confusion and remind you that you’re not alone.”
— Jacq Frances aka Jacq the Stripper, Serious Artist and author of Divorced in Paradise
“Triumphant, tender, and fierce. Vol. 2 does exactly the kind of work those who make a living on intimacy (and those who love them) need in their own lives, and does it with care. To steal from Jeanette Winterson, [writing] is a finding place, not a hiding place. What a gift this collection of intimacy gives us. In these pages, we are found.”
— July Westhale, author of Trailer Trash
"Don't Hate My Heels Vol. 2 is an antidote to the toxic anti-sex work bias that permeates "the air we breathe." The stories in DHMH Vol. 2 are complex, entertaining, beautiful, and even harrowing at times. It is equal parts love letter and practical guide to all sex workers with tools for quieting negative self-talk, offering compassion and love to yourself, and navigating trauma. It holds the mess and the vulnerability baked into a craft that is stigmatized, criminalized, and disenfranchised. For civilians like me, it's a window into the web of care and camaraderie that holds the community together. A compelling read!"
